Caution

This instrument measures liquid content by determining the refractive index of the liquid, based on the principle of total internal reflection. Therefore it cannot be used for non-translucent liquid such as milk.

Brix scale is the number of grams of sucrose present per 100 grams of an aquatic solution. If a target solution is mainly consisted of materials other than sucrose, conversion of measured values are necessary for precise measurement.
